About Hanover Choir:

The Concert Choir and Chamber Singers are the two premiere choral ensembles of Hanover College led by Dr. Madlen Batchvarova, Professor and Chair of the Music Department and Director of Choral Programs. Members of the groups major in chemistry, biology, education, history, communication, theater, music, kinesiology & integrative physiology among others. The Concert Choir performs in a variety of musical styles from Renaissance to Contemporary. The ensemble sings both unaccompanied and extended masterworks for chorus, soloists and orchestra. The Chamber Singers is a select vocal ensemble that explores diverse choral works from motets to spirituals. The group strives to achieve a captivating performance atmosphere especially with multicultural compositions representing the music of the world. The Hanover College choral program maintains a rigorous performing schedule with at least 10 concerts and concert participations each season performed before capacity audiences on and off campus. The choirs are welcome additions to the all campus events such as the President’s Evening to Honor the Arts and the Baccalaureate and Commencement Ceremonies. Historically the choirs have toured regionally, nationally and internationally and have delivered invited performances at professional sports games and gubernatorial inaugurations.
